What does it take for God to get our attention these days? Perhaps what we are longing for isn’t the perfect home, the perfect Christmas, the perfect job, the perfect family. Perhaps what we are longing for is the joy and peace that comes from moving through the challenges and difficulties of life, perhaps we are longing for God to give us a swift spiritual kick in the pants, perhaps we are longing for a message that isn’t expected, so that we are caught off guard, so that our emotions, thoughts and spirit are stirred. Advent is a time of waiting and anticipation, what will we hear today as we wait? Will we finally sit up and take notice that and hear what God is saying to us today?
