Our creed includes living “with respect in creation” in the church’s mission. This points us to a relationship of mutuality, and even of love. Beyond loving the earth, we are enjoined even to recognize the way the earth loves us. Embracing this love is the true and essential foundation for environmental integrity, and perhaps the most important lesson for the human race to learn at this moment in history. How do we love the earth? Let us count the ways.
