Jesus enjoins us to trust, like the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. From scripture we hear today talk of plenitude and fullness. But how do we trust this talk in a world in which we hear so much talk of scarcity and emptiness? Jesus’ answer is a spiritual exercise: watch the flowers; look at the birds. What do you see?
