I have always liked this verse, especially as a young radical wanting change. Then I learned about Living Tradition: moving into the future in continuity with the past. Now, I think we are challenged to watch for, and to be open to, something that is faithful only in that it is God who acts, regardless of how much or how little it resembles the past.
