Embracing Eternity
The scripture readings today portray Christ as being from the beginning and existing eternally. Yet we celebrate the birth of Christ at a specific point in time. Perhaps this is the real power of Christmas: all eternity is contained within that single moment; and thereby we come to know that every moment of our lives is held within the eternal embrace.
