Like our ancestors, we long to build temples of worship for God who is our creator and provider, our strength and our guide. King Solomon asked God only for wisdom and knowledge on how best to lead God’s people and God rewarded him for his pure heart. Solomon wanted to build God a temple, a space which would gather all people together in praise and thanksgiving for God. We, like Solomon long to provide a space for worshipers to gather, and we like Moses are willing servants of God. We know that God built the house, and Jesus leads the house by calling us to reach out to others with compassion and love. How will we continue to build the household of God in this community? How will we continue to be a beacon of light in this community?
