Time and time again, good people with the best intentions lose sight of how our relationship with God works. King David wanted to thank God for all that he had received by erecting a house for God. However, this was not David’s decision to make. Through the prophet Nathan God proclaims that God will make a house for us, not the other way around. How will we inhabit the land which God has given and how will we connect our sense of place with our faith?
