Perhaps the Church, like the Temple, would be a place for all nations. The word “catholic” means universal. United Church of Canada envisioned the reunification of the church. In the midst of this, we need to affirm what it is that truly unites us – and it is probably not institutional amalgamation or global centralism. In the United Church, we baptize children into the holy catholic church. What is the true catholicity of the church? On this Reformation Sunday we ask, what does it mean to be a reformed and reforming church today?
