Luke 6:1-16 Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath
The religion of the Scribes and the Pharisees had become dogmatic and legalistic and thus, for many, hard-hearted and empty. And so, for many, there was refreshing vitality in Jesus’ new vision of a gracious gospel and and open heart. Similarly today, we hear from people who are pleasantly surprised to find a church that is truly life-giving. So many in our world today still think that religion should be rigid, dogmatic, and dictatorial. How do we live the new vision? How do we state our truth clearly and engage the ones who will follow?
