This is about urgency. The sins of the people warrant destruction; the fig tree might one more year; after rejecting the prophets, Jerusalem is now forsaken. We discern God’s will for our lives and intend to follow, but does it matter when? What are you putting off? What are we as a society putting off? And what is the urgency? How long does God have to wait before giving up on us? What is at stake? And where is the Grace?
