The season of Pentecost calls us to focus on living the Christ-life together. The look of the church in its inception and the look of the church today has drastically changed and transformed and yet we continue to struggle with similar issues as reflected in the writings of Paul. Paul desires Christians to live in community not only with each other, but with their neighbours. Paul reminds us that in doing this, we are not meant to sacrifice ourselves, “take care that you are not consumed by one another” but rather we are called to live by the Spirit. What does this look like for the church of today?
