Luke 4:16-21 • Spirit of the Lord is upon me
John 15:26—16:15 • When the Helper comes
We see the trinity when Jesus talks of the “Father” and the “Spirit.” This is the living trinity, unencumbered by dogmatic formulation. The problem with the “doctrine of the Trinity” is not that there is a formulation, but the insistence that there be only on formulation—there are may ways to speak of these holy three. And yet perhaps the best way is through stories, such as these, of the living trinity.
