The sacrament takes us beyond all the divisions and competition to a deep discernment of the body. Body can be understood both as “my body which is for you” and as the church which is the Body of Christ. Sustaining this perception is perhaps the functional importance of doing this “in remembrance of me”. As we take the Body into ourselves, how are we received into the Body?
