Ecclesiastes 4: 1-16 The Value of a Friend
As we move into the fall and another exciting year of programming we hear wisdom in the words of the author of Ecclesiastes a name which is derived from the Hebrew Qoheleth. In Hebrew the root qhl has to do with an assembly or congregation (an “ecclesia”) The name, Ecclesiastes, then would seem to mean “leader of the assembly.” As we come together as the assembled body of Christ how will we work together in a spirit of friendship, in a spirit of comradery, in a spirit that values working together, in a spirit of discernment where we make wise choices together?
