Be Bold

Mark 2: 1-22 Jesus heals a paralytic and eats with a tax collector

The scriptures remind us that there are some thing we shouldn’t do like put new wine in old wine skins. Sometimes we have to make decisions that may not be popular or expected. Sometimes we are called to do things that others will not understand or will question. It seems that when Jesus arrived home, he surprised everyone and did the unexpected. Jesus was called to care for the people on the edges, the marginalized, people who were deemed unclean and sinful. What is God calling us to do as a church in the Oliver neighbourhood? What will our church an congregation look like in 10 years if we heed Jesus’ warning and not put new wine in old wine skins?
