Mark 13: 1-8, 24-37 Destruction of Temple and Lesson of Fig Tree In the scripture Jesus begins by predicting the destruction of the temple. Again Jesus calls us to pay attention, to beware and keep alert. We are to pay attention so that we are not lead astray. This does not mean that we are to stand still. This is about active waiting, it is about movement, it is time for a change and for new life to emerge. The time is coming so let’s wait, readying to go, but only when it is time. As Jesus says in vs 8, “This is but the beginning of the birth pangs.” When the foundations start to shake, do not be afraid, be ready and know that God’s grace will be found.
