Mark 14:1–11 • Annointing at Bethany
While Jesus’ enemies plot to kill him a woman lavishly anoints him while he is gathered with others at the house of Simon the leper. To some it seemed wrong, but in Jesus’ eyes, it was a beautiful thing. As the disciples learned, so we too can learn to recognize the beauty in this simple act. Even in the darkest moment, under gathering clouds of hatred, we too can be touched by the redeeming beauty of one loving action.
