This is the moment of transition from discipleship to mission and ministry. The scripture captures the final commissioning where the disciples are called and empowered by Jesus to do as Jesus did. Their mission is to spread the good news, to teach, and to heal. The Stewardship theme this year is “Knock, knock…believe, seek, share.” This is the great commissioning. But beware the lure of such power, and stay grounded in the spirit of discernment and the social gospel.
