Romans 5: 1-11 — Justified by faith

It has been acknowledged by researchers and historians that in this post-modern world, many people have left the institution of church because the church has failed to live according to what it believes. There are countless examples of different churches and different denominations and faithful leaders and people, acting in ways that harm others, that lack integrity, that demonstrate the weaknesses of humanity. Paul reminds us that suffering produces endurance, character and in the end hope. He believes this because he has experienced the love of God and the power of the love of God to sustain each of us through suffering. How will the love of God poured out on us, empower us to act according to our faith, and not our own desires?
