The love of God transcends cultures and social expectations. Jesus was asked, “What is the number one most important thing?” His answer was simple: love God and love your neighbor. God’s love has the power to redefine what a family is and what we value. To love all people, as God has called us to do, we need to remember to listen and embrace. Miroslav Volf believes that we love through mutual embrace by engaging in four movements: opening the arms, waiting, closing the arms, and opening the arms again. How will we be transformed when we embrace our neighbor in unconditional love?
