Being Christian means that we are called to rise up against oppression and to participate in the work of reconciliation. Hearts can be devious (Jeremiah) and our feelings – though natural and useful – can lead us astray. Beatitudes can wake us up to new feelings and also invite us to empathetic insights. How can we invite more and more people to God’s table with joy and hope?
