Psalm 40: 1-11 Patience
1 Corinthians 1:1-9 Grace to all

Jesus came on earth to serve and not to be served. Jesus teaches us that following him means we are called to serve. Paul reminds the followers of Jesus that we are not lacking any spiritual gifts. In fact, Jesus strengthens us with these spiritual gifts. God does not require sacrifice and offering, we are not called to serve out of a sense of duty or obligation. If we follow Jesus’ example, we will see that servanthood is lived out by compassionately caring, generosity, and a willingness to help others in need. It starts at home, school, work, and in the community. All that is required of us is that we are kind, humble, and trust in God.
