There are many moments on the faith journey where suddenly, because of a significant event, we are given a glimpse or provided insight into the mission and identity of Jesus. We are comfortable with the image of Jesus as the shepherd for we feel cared for. Jesus is also the liberator and redeemer which is found in the phrase “it is I.” In this scripture, Jesus is identifying himself with God, and Jesus will calm the chaos that the disciples find themselves in. How will Jesus calm the storm that we find ourselves in today?
