The prophet Haggai has a challenging message for both the people of the past and for us today. Haggai is speaking to the people who were captive, enslaved and exiled who have now returned, set free and presented with the opportunity to rebuild their community. The world that we live in was exiled over COVID, and we are not returning to what we once knew. According to Haggai, God does not want us to go backwards, but is going to shake things up. The message is take courage! How will the church look when we have the courage to let God shake things up?
