Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians, is writing to both affirm and challenge how they are living out their faith in the world. As an apostle, Paul feels it is his role to inspire communities to live according to Jesus’ teaching. Paul uses this letter to address some of the divisions while reminding the people of our common purpose. As people of The United Church of Canada we feel that we are called by God “to celebrate God’s presence, live with respect in creation, love and serve others and seek justice and resist evil.” On Discipleship Sunday we will hear how R-W is answering God’s call in the world today. We will join together to do the work of the church while giving thanks for all that God has given.
