Mark 6:30-34; 45-56
Like the disciples we can become consumed with doing the work of the church, and the work of justice that we end up neglecting our spiritual nourishment. In the passage from Mark, Jesus shows the disciples the importance of ceasing the work in order to come away and break bread together. The practice of Sabbath is about breaking our routine in order to re-connect with one another and the earth. We need to take time to be less structured so that the Holy Spirit is free to move and be and transform out hearts, our minds, our spirit and our lives. What is it that you need to cease being about?
