1 Corinthians 12:12-31 • Now you are the body of Christ each one of you
Luke 4:14-21 • The Spirit of the Lord is upon me
What does Robertson-Wesley offer the community? What does God offer us? I believe that God offers us a place to belong as well as a purpose to exist! According to Paul and his imagery of the church as the body of Christ, we are all a part of the body of Christ here in the world. That means that we belong, we are a part of something bigger than just our individual selves. Belonging to something means participating and here at Robertson-Wesley there is a sense of openness to how this looks for different people. In Luke we hear the manifesto of Jesus, we discover who Jesus is and what he has been called to do. God’s vision of the church is not a building, but rather a body of people caring for one another and sharing the work of God in the world. But a building provides a safe space in which to serve, learn, grow and be nurtured. What opportunities is Robertson-Wesley open to discovering? What is our call and commitment to this neighbourhood?
