Love is not only the answer, but it is what Jesus calls us to aspire to, it is our answer to God’s call in the world. The passage from Corinthians is not just a wedding passage, it is an invitation by Paul to live in community in a way that shows respect for all, it directs our actions toward acceptance and brings us closer to God and to one another. Love is what breaks down the walls that divide us. Though this sounds simple, in fact it can be really challenging. Answering the call of God and living the social gospel will test us, stretch us, challenge us and also give us the courage to keep moving forward.
